On May 13, 2011, our mother, Cindy, was diagnosed with stage 4 Non small cell lung cancer (adenocarcinoma). She has never smoked a day in her life. Since being diagnosed, as a self-employed and charitable family law attorney she continued to work hard for others in need. We sincerely thank you for your contribution, prayers, and support for our mother.

Today my mom had a pet scan done. We should get the results by friday. It has been a really tough week, but we are keeping our spirits up and praying for our mother. We appreciate all of your support.
    Thank you.

  2. Dear Cindy and Family,
My husband Lenard Eric Friedland just sent my this information. I was diagnosed with Stage IV-B Non-Hodgken's Lymphoma in October and had six rounds of chemotherapy. I am now on a "maintenance" regimen of chemo every 12 weeks for at least the next two years. I am being treated at the START Center and they are a state of the art treatment and research facility and many of the patients they see are enrolled in medical trials to pay for their treatment. I don't know if this can help defray some of the cost of chemo (and $22,000 per treatment is not unusual - one of my chemo meds is $15,000 per bag, not including other drugs that go with it, the cost of infusion, blood tests, etc.).
Eric and I will help in any way we can and I do understand how it feels to be told you have cancer and how frightening and overwhelming everything seems. Please call or email me if there is anything I can do including just listening to your fears, anger, sadness, etc.
    Sincerely,
    Julia Friedland

  4. Cindy, as difficult as it may be, keep your faith. Don't entertain negative thoughts, those are from the enemy. You are the daughter of the King of Kings. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. We are standing on God's Word for your healing. Alma Anthony
